Carboxyhemoglobin is found when carbon dioxide combines with amino group of hemoglobin or heme portion of hemoglobin. What is correct ans. Actually The confusion is the carbo monoxide and carbon dioxide because carbo carboxyhemoglobin is specifically for CO but in the it is a past ppr question and it is written that CO2 combines and answer for carbon monoxide is the hem portion whereas for CO2 it is the amino group. So please explain this.

carboxyhemoglobin tab bnta hai jb CO haem portion ke saath bind krti hai and carbaminoglobin mein CO2 amine ke saath in ke name me hi in ke key points hain yaani carboxyhemoglobin mein [heam + CO] AND CARBAMINOGLOBIN mein [amine +CO2]

Assalam u alaikum, The short answer is: Carboxyhemoglobin is formed when Carbon Monoxide (CO) binds to the Heme portion. When Carbon Dioxide (\(CO_{2}\)) binds to hemoglobin, it forms Carbaminohemoglobin, which attaches to the amino group of the globin protein.
