A+B=R and R is perpendicular to A according to statement so the angle between R and A is 90 if we take dot product of A.R =ARcos90 =0 as we know R is A+B we can substitute it in place of A.R which will be A.(A+B) =0 by multiplying it we get A.A + A.B we also know that dot product of vector with itself is 1 by putting A.A =1 the equation will become 1+ A.B =0 we can also write it as A.B = -1 and -1 <0 justifies option B.
