It's because sacrum and coccyx are fused and considered two bones

There are 33 vertebra in human body but vetevral bones are 26 because last 5 out of 9 pelvic bones fuse to form 1 called sacrum and last 4 out of those 9 fuse to form other bone called cacyx so last 9 bones reduced to 2 now count from cerviacl 7 thoracic 12 lamber 5 and sacrum 1 cocyx 1 equal to 26

We have 33 vertebrae but when we grow up these fused up and become 26 5 fused to make sacrum 4 fused to make coccyx

no of vertebrae is 33 but no of bones in these vertebrae is 26 so there is a difference in statement no of vertebrae and no of bones in vertebrae
